Many podcasts are audio-only — video is great for YouTube and social clips.

What resolution do you need?
1080p looks great on YouTube and any screen — the right choice for most podcasts. 4K is cinema-level but creates much larger files.
Frame rate
For a podcast or interview, 30fps is almost always the right choice.
🎞️Recording format: We shoot all podcasts in ProRes 422 by default — professional quality, great for colour grading, and compatible with all editing software. We can also shoot in Blackmagic RAW (BRAW) or other formats on request, though file sizes will be significantly larger. Just ask the HOO team.

We use Blackmagic 4K Pocket Cinema cameras. If you use our cameras, a Camera Operator who also handles audio is always included — no separate crew needed.

Each camera captures a different angle — host, guest, wide shot. Your operator handles all of them plus audio.
You're bringing your own cameras — select any crew support you'd like from us.
